Albert Mobbs joined St. John Ambulance in England in 1896. He served in the Royal Navy during World War I. He immigrated to Canada in 1921, joined the Canadian Army Reserve, and attained the rank of Sergeant. He continued volunteering in St. John Ambulance in Canada as a member of the Toronto Branch until he died in 1948. By then, he had served in St. John Ambulance for 52 years in Britain and Canada. Few St. John volunteers have stayed with the organization for so long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His family has kept his medals, which were: the 1914-1915 Star, the British War Medal, the Allied Victory Medal, the 1911 Coronation Medal for St. John Ambulance, and the Service Medal of the Order of St. John. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His first aid training certificate, issued in November 1904, is one of the few remaining from King Edward VII’s reign.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
