St. John Ambulance Kepi

This kepi may seem strange today, as St. John Ambulance officers wear a peaked cap today, but it was part of the St. John Ambulance uniform in two periods of the past. St. John volunteers wore a kepi from the 1880’s to the early 1910’s. Cadets wore it in the 1970’s until the 1990’s, when they returned to wearing a black beret. This kepi in the St. John Ambulance Toronto Branch collection was probably used by a cadet between the 1970’s to 1990’s.
